Brighton College Prep Handcross is a happy and vibrant day and boarding school for girls and boys aged 2 to 13. We believe childhood is precious and want our pupils to enjoy this special time for as long as possible, within an environment that offers a wide range of stimulating opportunities for growth and development, both inside and outside the classroom.
Our school is purposeful, ambitious, forward-thinking and most importantly of all, it is kind. Set in 52 acres of idyllic countryside, we offer an exciting, bright and buzzing family school, where we are well known for our welcoming atmosphere, high academic standards, outstanding teaching and exceptional care for every child. We offer full, weekly and part-time boarding in our beautiful, home from home boarding house.

Brighton College Prep Handcross inspires a love of sport, performing arts, and creativity.
Specialist sports lessons begin in Reception, with weekly fixtures from Year 3, promoting inclusivity, competition, and sportsmanship. From Nursery, pupils participate in music, drama and dance. Every child has lessons in music and drama each week, with our specialist teachers.
Art is taught in a modern design centre with a wonderful showcase gallery and its own garden space for outside creatve work. As well as painting and drawing, pupils enjoy pottery, sewing, textile and photography. Design Technology sees pupils discover different stages of the design process, and the various tools, materials and techniques that will turn their ideas into reality!
Boarding at Brighton College Prep Handcross is an incredibly special experience for each and every one of our pupils. A supportive family environment that promotes independence as well as a strong sense of belonging, assures our pupils that this is their home away from home.
From Year 4 (age 8), we offer a family-style boarding experience for either full, weekly or flexi boarders. We have a comprehensive bus service that picks up pupils from Sussex, Surrey and London. Our London service collects pupils from pick up points across the city on a Monday morning and returns them on a Friday evening.
Within our beautiful boarding house, your child will make friends and memories that will last forever.
During term time, we offer an extended day to provide greater flexibility for your family. With over 100 clubs available during break times and after school, there’s something for everyone. During school holidays, we continue to provide wraparound care with a variety of exciting clubs, including art and DT, multi-sports, forest school, cooking, craft, and much more.
Our extensive daily minibus service offers a number of routes across Sussex, Surrey and London. Our highly-trained drivers ensure your child arrives at school each day safe and happy, ready to embark on a day of learning and play.
The best way to experience what life is like at Brighton College Prep Handcross is to join us at an Open Morning, where you will have the chance to talk to pupils and teachers about what makes our school such a special place, and to answer any questions you might have.
We also offer Mini Owls Toddler Club for families interested in joining our Nursery or Reception classes. Sessions are held weekly in our Nursery during term time and provide the ideal opportunity for parents and children to explore our school.
