ADMISSIONS
Step 1: Enquire
Enquiring with us is the first stage of the admission process. To make your initial enquiry please contact our Registrar, Lisa Taylor, on 01444 400526 and choose option 1, email registrar@brightoncollegeprephandcross.co.uk or contact us below.
Following your enquiry we will send you an information pack and invite you to attend one of our Open Mornings or arrange a visit to the school to meet with the Headmaster, Mr Jonnie Besley, or our Head of Pre-Prep, Mrs Pennie Parry.
Step 2: Apply
Applying for a place for your child is the next stage of the admissions process. If you would like to apply for a place, please complete the form by clicking the link at the bottom of this page, as soon as possible. This will register your interest for your child in the required year group. Once both the completed application form and payment have been received, your application will be processed.
Please note that while an application is an important part of the process, it does not automatically guarantee a place.
Step 3: Assessment or Taster Day
Following an application, your child may be invited to either a Taster Day or an Assessment Morning (Years 3 - 8), so that we can carry out some informal assessments in Maths, English, and Non-Verbal Reasoning. For children being considered for a place in the Prep School the Assessment Morning may be followed by a ‘Taster Day’ (or overnight stay for a boarder) so that they can experience a day in the life of Brighton College Prep Handcross.
For a place in our Nursery & Pre-Prep, your child will be invited to join us for a Taster Session. The length of this session will depend on your child’s age.
Stage 4: Admission
Your child will be offered a place on the basis of a successful Assessment Morning and/or Taster Day. Parents are asked to complete an Acceptance Form based on our Terms and Conditions, to confirm acceptance of a place. At this time, parents are also requested to pay a deposit to guarantee the place. This deposit is refundable when your child leaves the school. Welcome and joining packs will be sent in the term before your child starts and you may also be invited to join us for any relevant information meetings.

The best way to experience what life is like at Brighton College Prep Handcross is to join us at an Open Morning, where you will have the chance to talk to pupils and teachers about what makes our school such a special place, and to answer any questions you might have.
We also offer Mini Owls Toddler Club for families interested in joining our Nursery or Reception classes. Sessios are held weekly in our Nursery during term time and provide the ideal opportunity for parents and children to explore our school.
